Software Engineer (Senior) – Edinburgh – up to £80K plus benefits (Fully Remote)

C#/C/C++, XAML, ASP.NET Core, XUnit, Azure Devops, Git, Visual Studio, Windows Desktop, Windows Server, SQL Server, Android and ADB.

Change Digital are working closely in partnership with an Edinburgh based award winning Tech Company to help them achieve their goal of making the world a safer place. As a result of this, we are now seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer to join their existing team. A new generation of technology born out of a research project at Edinburgh Napier University, this company’s software tools enable police to find evidence of child abuse or terrorist activity on suspect’s computers in just minutes. Thereby replacing processes that previously took many hours in a forensics lab, weeks or months. After a major re-architecture  of their existing code base the company is now on a journey to move from Desktop based application to mobile and is also rapidly expanding into international markets. They are the founding member of the Online Safety Technology Industry Association (OSTIA) and have been recognised by the UK Government as offering “game-changing” tech.

Essential Skills:

  • Strong fundamental understanding of computer science
  • Strong understanding of core principles of software development.
  • Experience in a modern object orientated programming language (preferably C#)
  • Experience at all phases of the development lifecycle and development techniques (e.g. using version control, unit testing, peer review, pair programming, agile practices)

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in the technologies they work with (C#/C/C++, XAML, ASP.NET Core, XUnit, Azure Devops, Git)
  • Experience developing within the Microsoft environment (Visual Studio, Windows Desktop, Windows Server, SQL Server)
  • Knowledge of Android systems and functions, low level access and ADB connections as well as application development.
